Introduction
Red Boss tracking is the cornerstone of organized guild gameplay. Whether you're managing world bosses with fixed respawn timers or scheduled raid encounters, L9 MMS keeps your entire guild synchronized.
What you'll be able to do:
- Track multiple bosses with live countdown timers on your dashboard
- Receive automatic Discord reminders at intervals you choose
- Get rally-up alerts minutes before a boss spawns
- View kill history and maintain accurate spawn records
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Administrator or Super Administrator role in your guild
- A Discord webhook URL from your Discord server (we'll show you how to get this)

Understanding Spawn Types
When creating a boss, you'll choose one of two spawn types. Select the one that matches how the boss works in your game.
Timer-Based
The boss respawns after a fixed time following its death.
Example: Boss respawns 4 hours after being killed.
Use for: World bosses with consistent respawn timers.
Scheduled
The boss appears at specific times each week, regardless of when it was last killed.
Example: Boss spawns every Tuesday and Friday at 8:00 PM.
Use for: Raid bosses, weekly events, or bosses with fixed spawn windows.

Creating Your First Boss
Step 1: Open Red Boss Management
- From your guild dashboard, click Admin in the navigation menu
- Select Red Bosses
You'll see the Red Boss dashboard with any existing bosses displayed as cards.

Step 2: Click Create Boss
Click the Create Boss button in the top-right corner. A form will appear.
Step 3: Fill in Boss Details
Boss Name (required) Enter the boss's name as you want it displayed (e.g., "Ancient Dragon").
Location (optional) Where the boss spawns (e.g., "Dragon's Lair - North Cave").
Image URL (optional) A direct link to an image of the boss. This appears on the dashboard card and in Discord reminders. Example link: https://i.imgur.com/yHuH1bj.png (notice how it ends in .png)
Description (optional) Any notes about the boss (strategy tips, recommended party size, etc.).

Step 4: Configure Spawn Settings
Select your spawn type, then fill in the appropriate settings:
For Timer-Based:
- Enter the respawn time in seconds
- The form shows a friendly format (e.g., "4h 0m" for 14400 seconds)

For Scheduled:
- Click Add Schedule
- Select the day of the week
- Enter the spawn time (hour and minute)
- Add multiple schedules if the boss spawns on different days

Step 5: Save
Click Create Boss. Your new boss appears on the dashboard with a status of "Unknown" until you record your first kill.
Configuring Discord Notifications
To receive boss reminders in Discord, you need to set up a webhook and configure your notification preferences.
Step 1: Create a Discord Webhook
- Open your Discord server
- Go to Server Settings > Integrations > Webhooks
- Click New Webhook
- Name it something like "L9 MMS Boss Reminders"
- Select the channel where reminders should be posted
- Click Copy Webhook URL

Step 2: Add the Webhook to L9 MMS
- In your guild dashboard, go to Admin > System Settings
- Find the Discord Integration section
- Paste your webhook URL in the input field
- Click Add
You can add multiple webhook URLs to send reminders to different channels.

Step 3: Configure Reminder Settings
In the same Discord Integration section:
Periodic Boss Reminders
- Toggle Enable to turn on automatic reminders
- Set Reminder Frequency (how often reminders are sent, e.g., every 6 hours)
- Select your Timezone so spawn times display correctly
- Check Mention @everyone if you want the reminder to ping your server
Test Your Webhook Click the Test Webhook button to send a test message to your Discord channel. If configured correctly, you'll see a test notification appear.
Setting Up Rally-Up Alerts
Rally-up alerts are special notifications sent a few minutes before a boss spawns, giving your guild time to gather.
Enable Rally-Up Reminders
- Go to Admin > System Settings
- Find Red Boss Settings
- Toggle on Auto Reminders
- Set Rally-Up Reminder Before Spawn:
- Enter a number (e.g., 10)
- Select the unit (Minutes or Hours)
Example: Setting "10 Minutes" means you'll receive a Discord alert 10 minutes before each boss spawns.

How Rally-Up Works
When you mark a boss as killed, the system automatically schedules a rally-up alert based on the next spawn time. Your Discord channel will receive a special "Rally Up!" notification when it's time to prepare.
Marking Bosses as Killed
Accurate kill tracking keeps your spawn timers correct.
Quick Kill (Current Time)
- Find the boss on your dashboard
- Click the Kill button (red button on the boss card)
- The kill is recorded with the current time
- The next spawn countdown begins immediately
Edit Kill Time (Past Kill)
If you need to record a kill that happened earlier:
- Click Edit Kill Time on the boss card
- Select the actual date and time the boss was killed
- Click Save
The respawn timer recalculates based on the corrected kill time.
Adding Kill Details
When marking a kill, you can optionally add:
- Item Drops - Record any notable loot
- Notes - Add context about the kill
These details appear in the Kill Logs table below the boss cards.

Using the Dashboard
The Red Boss dashboard gives you a complete overview of all your tracked bosses.
Status Cards
At the top, you'll see summary cards:
- Available Now - Bosses that have spawned and are ready to fight
- Recently Killed - Bosses waiting to respawn
- Timer Bosses - Total bosses using timer-based spawns
- Scheduled Bosses - Total bosses using scheduled spawns
Boss Cards
Each boss displays:
- Name and Location
- Status Badge (Spawned/Killed/Unknown)
- Live Countdown Timer - Time until next spawn
- Last Kill Time - When the boss was last killed
Filtering and Sorting
Use the filter panel to find specific bosses:
- Search by boss name
- Filter by Status (All, Spawned, Killed, Unknown)
- Filter by Spawn Type (All, Timer, Scheduled)
- Sort by name, next spawn time, status, or spawn type
Kill Logs
Below the boss cards, you'll find a table of all recorded kills with timestamps, who recorded the kill, and any notes.

Troubleshooting
Reminders Not Sending
Check your webhook URL
- Go to System Settings > Discord and verify the URL is correct
- Click "Test Webhook" - if it fails, create a new webhook in Discord
Check reminder settings
- Make sure "Enable" is toggled on for Periodic Boss Reminders
- Verify the frequency isn't set too high (e.g., every 168 hours = once per week)
Check boss status
- Bosses must have a valid next spawn time to appear in reminders
- Mark bosses as killed to start the spawn countdown
Wrong Spawn Times
Check your timezone
- Go to System Settings and verify the timezone matches your guild's region
- Scheduled boss times use this timezone
Check the kill time
- If a timer-based boss shows the wrong spawn, edit the kill time to the correct value
Rally-Up Not Working
- Make sure Auto Reminders is enabled in Red Boss Settings
- Verify you've set the Rally-Up Reminder time (e.g., 10 minutes)
- The boss must have a future spawn time for rally-up to schedule
Best Practices
Consistent Kill Recording
Designate specific members (Managers) to record kills. This prevents duplicate entries and keeps spawn times accurate.
Timezone Coordination
Set your guild timezone to match when most members play. All scheduled times and reminders use this timezone.
Multiple Discord Channels
Consider adding multiple webhooks:
- #boss-reminders for periodic updates
- #urgent-alerts for rally-up notifications
This keeps important alerts visible without cluttering your main channels.
Regular Dashboard Checks
Encourage members to check the dashboard before logging off. The live countdowns help everyone plan their gaming sessions around upcoming spawns.
