Sword Master is the pure basic-attack specialist among the hidden classes of Lord Nine: Infinite Class (LordNine). No rotation gymnastics, no conditional stacks — just a flat 25% chance for every basic attack to hit twice, which makes it the cleanest damage amplifier in the game for melee builds that live on auto-attack uptime.

How to Unlock Sword Master
Hidden classes in LordNine unlock automatically when you carry a specific combination of six abilities at the same time. The combo is arranged as three slots with two interchangeable options each — you need one ability from both columns of every row, active simultaneously on the same character. Order doesn't matter, and the abilities can come from any base class you've leveled.
| Slot | Option A | Option B |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | ||
| 2 | ||
| 3 |
Swapping any qualifying ability out of your active build reverts the class until the combo lines up again — plan swaps carefully. For every other combo in the game, see the complete hidden class combination reference.
The Class Skill: One Attack, Sometimes Two
![]()
Class Skill: Basic Attacks have a 25% chance of dealing Extra Combined Damage.
That's the whole pitch, and it's a good one: every point of attack speed and basic-attack damage you stack gets multiplied by the proc. Moment-to-moment the class asks exactly one thing of you — keep basic-attack uptime. There is no hidden depth beyond that, which is either the appeal or the dealbreaker depending on how you like to play.
What Sword Master Is Actually Good At
Its best home is elite-monster farming. As a melee class it's the fastest elite killer in the roster — the standout use case being Kransia, where elite monsters pay out the most vestige currency per kill and Sword Master's sustained single-target output shortens every fight.
PvP is a "usable at 800" story: the stun on Bloom: Blazing Blade Dance is interesting, but the class is mainly PvE because its slot abilities don't bring much to fights against players.
The Milestones, Honestly Rated
One caution before you chase the ladder: the 600 milestone, One With the Sword, is very underwhelming in practice — a 6-second buff that, per player testing, only comes around roughly once a minute. Treat 600 as a stepping stone rather than a payoff.
The 800 skill is the opposite problem: Bloom: Blazing Blade Dance is a genuinely modern kit piece — an AoE burst with a stun and a guaranteed critical finisher — but so few players have reached ability level 800 on Sword Master that its real-world value is still unproven. Chasing it is a risky, experimental investment; the merit is a hit or miss until more of the community gets there.
Build: Weapons, Stats, and Relics
Any melee weapon that leans on basic attacks works — what you want to avoid is skill-spam weapons (the scythe being the clearest example), which waste the class skill entirely.
Relic priority: Origin of Destruction (Attack) benefits Sword Master greatly. For armor, leather supports a crit-damage build and plate supports a basic-attack-damage build — both are legitimate. Homun choice depends on which stats your build is missing. Budget relic upgrades with the relic calculator.
Ability Total Level Bonuses
| Ability Total Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 100 | Melee Defense Penetration +50 |
| 200 | Movement Speed +8% |
| 300 | Attack Speed +8% |
| 400 | Attack Power +70 |
| 500 | Melee Attack +50, All Damage +3.5% |
| 600 | One With the Sword — When hit, increases the caster's All Damage by 10% and decreases Damage Received by 10% for 6 sec. |
| 700 | Defense Power +100 |
| 800 | Bloom: Blazing Blade Dance — Deals 30% + 30% bonus Combined Damage within a 7m radius around the caster and inflicts Stun for 2 sec with a +60% chance. Afterwards, deals 30% + 30% bonus Combined Damage 3 times, dealing Combined Critical Hit Damage on the final attack. (Up to 10 targets) |
Your ability total level is the sum of every ability level on your build, so any ability you level walks you up the ladder. Milestones 100–500 come fairly quickly — the game hands out Expert and Maestro scrolls often. At 600 the wall starts: promoting an ability tag from level 90 to 100 takes a Master Scroll, crafted from 10 Maestro Scrolls, and you need six of them. 700 and 800 are long-haul goals if you rely on freebies and grinding alone — the 800 milestone effectively asks for four ability tags at level 140 and two at 120, where 100→120 costs one Master Scroll and 120→140 costs two more.
Verdict
The melee pick of the mid-table — level with Frost Knight and Trinity, behind Destroyer and Immortal Knight. If you main a basic-attack melee build and farm elites, it's the obvious choice; if you want PvP first, look elsewhere.
